Veronica Ibanez and
Max Parker each posted victories for Hendrix in today's 50th Annual Hendrix Classic. McMurry, Bethal, and Ozarks also participated in the meet.
On the men's side Parker won the 1000 free in 11:35:75 and placed second in the 500 free (5:34:83).
Sam Melhorn posted a victory in the 200 breast with a time of 2:17:81, while
David Jiang touched third in the event (2:31:95).
Freshman
Adam De Groodt was first in the 50 free (23.42) and was also third in the 100 free (54.62).
For the womenÂ
Haley Whitson's first-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:29:04 was a highlight to the Warriors' women's docket, while
Callista Poiter touched third in 2:35:35.
Angelique Longobardi added a first-place showing in the 100 free in 59.91.
"We had ups and downs throughout the day and need to continue improving our endurance for longer races," said Head Coach
Marty Wahle. "That being said, many came away ith some great swims, and many of our returners were faster today than at this meet last year."
Hendrix will compete on October 17th in a meet with Ozarks.
