ATLANTA, Ga. - For the second time this season, junior Sam Melhorn obtained Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Swimmer of the Week honors after his brilliant performance this past weekend during the 3rd Annual Hendrix Invite, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Joining Melhorn in receiving conference honors Tuesday was freshman Trinity Dohoney.

Melhorn, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., ended up winning four events and setting a plethora of school records following his performance Saturday and Sunday. Melhorn won and set a school record in the 22nd event of 40 (the 100 Meter Breaststroke) with a time of 56.77 while also winning and setting a new program record in the 100 Meter Individual Medley with a 53.50 time. As if those two record-setting performances wasn't enough, the junior set records in the 50 Meter Freestyle, 200 Meter Medley Relay, 400 Meter Medley Relay. Melhorn also took home first-place honors in the 200 Meter Individual Medley and the 200 Meter Breastroke. Congrats Sam!

A native of Tiburon, Cali., Dohoney took home her first collegiate conference accolade after winning four individual events over the course of the weekend. In addition to her four first-place individual events, the freshman also set two school records; the 100 Meter Fly (1:00.18) and part of the 200 Meter Free Relay (1:57.87). Dohoney also recorded first-place finishes in the 500 Meter Freestyle, 200 Meter Backstroke and 200 Meter Fly. Congrats Trinity!
