CONWAY, Ark. - After opening the 2024-25 season with seven of their first nine games on the road, Hendrix returns to Grove Gymnasium on December 18 versus Huntingdon to kick off a three-game homestand. The Warriors will turn around to face Lyon on December 19 before taking on the University of Texas-Dallas on December 21.
Hendrix is 2-7 on the year with wins over East Texas Baptist and Austin College. They are 1-1 at home, having lost their season opener at home to the University of Dallas back on November 10. They are coming off two losses to Rhodes and Centre over the weekend at the SAA Non-Con Classic.
The Warriors are averaging 65.7 points per game through 9 games played, shooting 39.5% from the field and 31.2% from behind the arc.
Huntingdon has opened the season with a 6-0 record and are 4-0 against teams from the Southern Athletic Association with wins over Oglethorpe and Sewanee and two wins versus Millsaps. The Hawks are averaging 88.0 point per game and have scored over 90 points in four of their six games.
Lyon will host Huntingdon on December 16 before the two teams make their way to Conway. Lyon defeated Hendrix 86-73 on November in Batesville. The Scots are sitting at 4-4 on the year before their game with Huntingdon and are averaging 75.0 points per game. They are 1-3 versus common opponents, having lost to Austin College twice.
Hendrix will wrap up their homestand with the University of Texas-Dallas on December 21. The Comets are coming off their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2019 but have limped to a 5-6 start in 2024-25. With the university's eventual transition to NCAA Division II, they have split their first 9 games versus competition from both Division II and Division III, and are 2-1 against Division III competition. The Comets lost 84-66 to Southeastern on Tuesday after rattling off wins over Eckerd and Texas Lutheran. The Warriors are 2-6 all-time versus UTD and have lost their last five meetings with the Comets, their last win coming on New Year's Eve in 2017.
Tyler Deithloff is leading Hendrix with 13.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, having started in all 9 game to date.
Beau Kronenberger has also started all nine games. The junior from Little Rock is shooting 33.3% from 3PT and 32.2% from the field.
The Warriors will wrap up the 2024-25 non-conference schedule versus the University of the Ozarks on December 30. They will remain in Conway to start January as they host Rhodes in their Southern Athletic Association season opener on January 8.
