GARLAND, Texas - The 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference swimming and diving championships commenced at the Garland ISD Natatorium on Wednesday evening. After day one of the championships, the Hendrix women sat tied for fourth on 56 points, while the men currently sit in third with 78 points.
The women's 200 yard medley relay team of
Ella Berntsen,
Sydney Chandler,
Cece Werth, and Isabella Pflieger finished sixth with a finals time of 1:59.46.
The men's 200 yard medley relay team of
Owen Vennerholm,
Cohen Calogero,
Landon Hardister, and
Nick Allen also finished sixth, clocking in at 1:38.49.
The women's 800 yard medley relay team, time time led off by Werth and anchored by Berntsen, was just 0.10 off of a podium finish, coming in at 8:23.71.
The men's 800 yard medley relay team, consisting of Vennerholm,
James Cotham, Cason Leleux, and Allen came in fifih with a time of 7:16.00, just 0.05 off of fourth-place finishers Austin College.
Day two of the championships will start tomorrow at 10:00 AM with the women's 500 yard freestyle, where senior
Cece Werth will be one of the favorites for a podium finish.
