Box Score JACKSON, Miss. - Following an impressive victory over Rhodes a week ago, Hendrix looked to continue its winning ways with the final contest of the 2018 season taking place Saturday at Millsaps. After Millsaps struck first on its opening possession, Hendrix tied the game up just a few minutes later at 7-7. Trailing 14-7, the Warriors landed a 13-0 run to take a commanding 21-14 lead with just over 13 minutes left in regulation. The Majors would score the last 14 points in 96 seconds with over 10 minutes to go. After a big blocked punt by junior
KeyShawn Henson with a pair of minutes left, Hendrix was unable to capitalize on the great field possession; falling to Millsaps 28-21. Hendrix concludes the 2018 season with a 2-8 overall mark and a 1-7 record in Southern Athletic Association play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Following a Majors touchdown on its opening possession, freshman dual threat quarterback
Deondre Henry scrambled five yards into the end zone right after a 55-yard pass from junior quarterback

Michael Spainhour. The score tied the game up at five-all just 5:28 into the game.
- After a 20-yard pass and score from Millsaps, senior kicker
Sandy Burks nailed a 33-yard field goal as the first quarter expired to bring Hendrix within four at 10-14. Following the successful try, Burks recorded his 12th field goal of the season; tying the season record of 12 (Steve Crenshaw).
- Just under five minutes later, Burks was successful again, this time from 24-yards out.
- Sophomore running back Kip Vanhoose netted a 54-yard rush just over 90 seconds into the fourth as the Warriors raced out to a 21-14 lead.
- Millsaps recorded the two last touchdowns of the game to hang on to a 28-21 victory in the last game of the season for both programs.
OFFENSIVE NOTEABLES:
- Doerr completed two passes on eight attempts for 83 passing yards while Henry was 3-for-6 for 11 yards.
- Spainhour netted 62 receiving yards on two catches while Vanhoose explored for 29 yards on a pair of catches as well.
- The sophomore in Vanhoose added a season-best 168 yards on the ground on 19 carries and a score.
- Henry added a score on ground in the opening quarter; finished with 57 rushing yards on 14 attempts while freshman
Austin O'Brien tallied 41 on five rushes.
DEFENSIVE NOTEABLES:
- Junior
Cory McGonigal and freshman
Tanner Hartsfield led the way, defensively, for Hendrix Saturday with seven tackles apiece.
- Freshman
Matthew Scirto produced six tackles including three unassisted ones while three freshmen tallied five each and four solo ones (
Daniel Packard,
Jacob Bremmon,
Anthony Johnson).
- Following the blocked punt by Henson late in regulation, A. Johnson managed to recover for Hendrix.
- In his last collegiate game, senior
Collin Mayer recorded one forced fumble and a tackle as well.
- As a unit, Hendrix recorded 59 team tackles to the Majors' 54. Of those 59, 43 were solo ones and Hendrix also tallied a pair for tackles for loss on the day.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTEABLES:
- After going 2-for-2 on the day, Burks broke Steve Crenshaw's record of 12 makes for the 2018 season with his 13th of the year and also set the new record for highest field goal percentage mark on the season (.857; 12-of-14).
- In addition to a pair of field goal makes, Burks was also successful on a PAT.

Garrett Wolf recorded five punts for a combined 186 yards (37.2 average).
- In addition to causing two fair catches, Wolf's long on the day was a 49-yard one against the Majors.
