Hendrix College Athletics

Bob Meriwether, class of ’49, was a three year letterman in basketball and was the leading scorer his freshman year, leading rebounder and a defensive standout during his sophomore year. Meriwether was named honorable mention All AIC in 1949. In 1959, he held the position of Dean of Students at Hendrix College. Meriwether also acted as a professor of education, history, and political sciences. He served as a volunteer game scorekeeper for the Warrior basketball team for 34 years until his retirement in 1993.
