Daniel Ward ended his career on the diamond as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in the history of Hendrix baseball. During his time at Hendrix Ward earned many exceptional honors and distinctions. To go along with many prestigious awards, Ward’s greatest accomplishment was earning the Marvin Delph Award in 2009, an award that is named in honor of Conway native and Arkansas Razorback legend Marvin Delph, and is given annually to both a male and female winner designated as the Conway Sports Persons of theYear. Some more accomplishments by Ward include, but are not limited to, being a two-time (Arkansas Baseball Coaches Association) ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region selection, ABCA/Rawlings All-West Gold Glove recipient in 2009, and a three-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) First Team selection.
         
To add to Ward’s outstanding list of accomplishments, he is tied for the most career total bases with 339 and played/started in 155 games. Over the course of his career, Ward recorded 201 hits, 61 doubles, 21 home runs and 125 RBIs with 29 stolen bases on 35 attempts. On the mound, Ward ended his career with a total of 87.2 pitched innings and 54 strikeouts.
