Hendrix College Athletics

Marion Atkinson was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and team captain of the 1932 team. He was voted All-State as a center and had an uncanny ability to score against Ouachita Baptist: “It has always been one of his good qualities that he could always make points against Ouachita. When other scorers were off a bit, he seemed to be able to defeat the good ole enemy away.” 

Off the court, Atkinson was a member of the Chemistry club, the President’s Dormitory Council, the Initiation Committee, the “H” Association, and the secretary to Dean Staples.
