Hendrix College Athletics

David Guthrie, class of ’81, was a member of the Hendrix men’s swimming team for four years, scoring points in every meet in which he participated. The Water Warriors won the AIC championship in each of his four years. At the 1980 NAIA national championship meet, Guthrie won first place in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke and swam on the Hendrix 400-yard freestyle relay. He was designated an NAIA All-American.
