Hendrix College Athletics

DeWitt H. "Big Dog" Smith ('37) of Wheatley was a four-year letterman in both football and basketball, earning all-state honors as a tackle in football and as a guard in basketball.  He served as captain of both the football and basketball teams. Smith was named “best athlete” his senior year and taught physical education classes that spring.
