Hendrix College Athletics

Ned Goyne earned induction into the Hendrix College Sports Hall of Honor after a standout career as a four-year letterman with the Hendrix men’s golf program. 

The Monroe, Louisiana native was a team captain and three-time All-Conference selection in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference. Over his four years, he helped lead the Warriors to AIC championships in 1973, 1975, and 1976. In his senior season, Goyne was the 1976 AIC individual champion and an NAIA District 17 medalist. At the 1976 AIC championships, Goyne shot an 81 and a 77 to finish with a total score of 158 to finish top of the field and secure another AIC championship for the Warriors.

For his outstanding accomplishments on the course and in the classroom, Goyne received the Carl Babcock Award after his senior season, which is given to those who exhibit clean and vigorous competition, team above self, and honor above victory.
