Hall of Honor
Kim Tallent Gauthreaux grew up playing softball in Baytown, TX and upon visiting Hendrix, she knew that it was a perfect fit. Throughout her four years as a Warrior, Kim excelled both on and off the field. In 2007, she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology while also making Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Academic Honor Roll each year.
Athletically, Kim led the softball team making history by breaking numerous SCAC and school records in batting and pitching. She was selected multiple times for Player-of-the-Week (2005, 2006, 2007), Pitcher-of the-Week (2005), First Team All-SCAC (2005), Second Team All-SCAC (2006, 2007) and the SCAC All-Tournament team (2005, 2007). Talk about setting records, she finished her softball career with 157 hits and 123 RBIs in batting. Also, Kim pitched on the mound a total of 506.1 innings and her performance struck out 375 batters and in 2006, she led in saves. Kim was also a part of the 30-win team for Hendrix; the first team in the state to accomplish such a prestigious accolade in a single season.
After graduating Hendrix, Kim completed a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Lamar University. Currently, she is a Clinical Instructor and the Kinesiology Undergraduate Advising Coordinator in the Health and Kinesiology Department at Lamar University.Â
