James B. “Jim” Rasco (’63) (Meritorious Service) of Dewitt was a basketball and track letterman as a freshman highlighted by a second place finish in the 880 in the AIC track meet.  His promising career in basketball and track was cut short due to injuries in both sports.  Widely known as “the ultimate sports fan”, he is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), has established an SABR Arkansas Chapter, currently serves on the Statistical Analysis Committee, and has received a special commendation for his sports research from Allan H. “Bud” Selig, the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.  Rasco has served the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame as a board member, president, first historian, and continues to introduce prior inductees present at the annual banquet.  As a founding board member of the Warrior Booster Club he assisted in the formation of the Hall of Honor and has served as a presenter at every banquet.  He is an active member and published author in several national athletic research associations. Rasco was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
