Hendrix College Athletics

Kristen (KJ) Simpson was a leader of the Warrior Softball team as a four-time All-SCAC selection at shortstop after coming to Conway from Frisco, Texas.

Simpson was named All-SCAC Honorable Mention in her freshman year and led the league with 42 walks, which ranks 11th all-time in league history. In 2006, she was named All-SCAC First Team after a stellar season in which she led the league with 46 runs scored and helped the Warriors to their winningest season in program history (30-14). She was also named to the SCAC All-Tournament team that year.

Over her four years, Simpson recorded 152 hits, which placed her in the esteemed 150-hit club. Her 71 career walks rank fourth all-time in SCAC history. Off the field, Simpson was a 2004 and 2005 SCAC Academic Honor Roll recipient.

Simpson graduated from Hendrix in 2007 with her B.A. in Kinesiology and Education, and is now entering her 22nd year coaching softball at the youth and high school level. She is a two-time 5AA Minnesota High School Softball state champion and a 2022 MN Softball Tier 1 10U state champion.

Simpson and her husband, Jon, reside in Minnesota with their two children, Cooper and Ellianna.
